Stiff toes

Stiff toes is a common complaint from many people, with many symptoms. You often wonder is age starting to catch up with us, or is it some form of arthritis.

There is no one cause for stiff toes. It can develop from just overuse of your feet, such as athletics and daily work activities, which can bring a great deal of stress to your joints.

To better diagnose your condition it would best to test the range of motion of your toes, or have an X-rays to see if there are any other problems developing in your feet like bone spurs or arthritis.

Treating this problem is something you want to get an early start on as soon as possible by following some basic foot relief.

  1. Make sure you are wearing shoes with a comfortable toe area.
  2. Wear some good insole pads or good orthotics.
  3. Avoid high impact activities, such as sporting activities.
  4. Taking anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen, or aspirin which can help relieve the pain and reduce swelling.
